Think about it; what is a doll to you? A lifeless toy that has to please its owner and be manipulated by its owner? Or a worry-free happy toy that doesn't need to worry about itself, just follow the owner?
'Like a doll' reflects very well on how humans changed to conceal their true self due to the external factors in their life and in order to blend in to the society. At times, humans will hide their sorrow, wear a smiling mask to fake a smile, forget about the feeling of love, forget about being respected or how to respect others, throw away their dignity, pretend nothing has happened, etc. Living like a dead or a life that others want you to be. Thus, Ayumi came up with this song title 'Like a doll' which suit perfectly to reflect this theory.
