'You were...' is telling a story of a person missing the past love and the painful recap on the times the two had together in the past. It makes me wonder if Ayumi is still thinking of Tomoya... or is she relating her friend's experience? Nobody knows except for herself. Somehow, from her songs, I feel that its Tomoya who gave up this 7 years relationship. Probably he felt pressurized as Ayumi is very successful than him. Just my guess.
