Surrounded by agency staff and bodyguards, Ayumi was spotted wearing huge sunglasses, a white mask and a black coat with its hood up. In her well-equipped armor, there's absolutely no way to guess her expression but a sign of weakness could be discerned from the way she leaned heavily on the staff member beside her.
As expected, the press fired endless questions at Ayumi. She remained silent throughout and made her departure with just a little bow to the press.
According to a source, Ayumi's representative filed for divorce on her behalf on the 17th (Japan Time), at Las Vegas, Nevada, where they held their wedding ceremony. The paperwork may take days and so the official decision is still not out, but the divorce has already been granted. As she did not register her marriage in Japan, she still remains as “single” in the local family register.
Ayumi will still continue to travel to other countries for work while going through the divorce.
Prior to her arrival back to Japan, on the night of the 23rd, Ayumi left a meaningful message on her Twitter about her divorce. She wrote in English, “Never regret anything coz at one time it was exactly what u wanted……;))” together with a photo of her running towards the sea, thereby expressing that she had no regrets about this short-lived marriage.
This divorce seems to leave a deep scar on Ayumi and it will not be long before Ayumi can recover from her divorce to return to sing to her fans with a happy voice. Be prepared for an upcoming string of sad songs.
