Is this another self-encouraging song or a self-assuring song by Ayumi? Whichever answer it is, the meaning of this song 'progress' is most important. Ayumi simply wants to tell herself that she didn't make a mistake in taking this route which she fought hard for and chose to be here. Even though she/one experienced alot of sorrow, pain and not able to smile innocently now, she/one still holds beliefs in the future and turned all the sorrow, pain into strength to carry on. Basically, what Ayumi wants to express through this song 'progress' is that you should not have any regrets in life and go for what you strongly believe in since the start.
